Position: Research Technician

The BIOPOLIS Association is launching an international call for the recruitment of a Research Technician in the framework of the Horizon Europe project, Resilient Investment for Sustainable Environments (RISE-IN), to carry out research activities, under an uncertain fixed-term employment contract (contrato de trabalho a termo incerto) for an expected period of 8 months, in a full-time position. This notice is for one (1) position (Reference BIOPOLIS 2026-41), to carry out scientific research activities within the scope and financed by the RISE-IN project (ref. GA 101214441).

Duties and Responsibilities: The candidate will develop research activities in the scientific area of Landscape Architecture, joining the BIOPOLIS-CIBIO team, specifically the Landscape Planning, Design and Management research group, within the framework of the RISE-IN project. The main activity will focus on supporting the development of Management and Maintenance Plans for Climate Resilient Solutions (CRS), contributing to their monitoring and long-term management, as well as supporting other activities that fit the general objectives of the project.

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Assist in the collection, organization, and analysis of data and all technical information necessary for the development of the Management and Maintenance Plan for the RISE-IN Demo Cities;
  • Actively participate in the organization and facilitation of stakeholder engagement activities to support the design, implementation and long-term management of CRS;
  • Support the implementation of the CRS in the city of Póvoa de Varzim and monitoring, documentation and evaluation of the implementation;
  • Assist in the preparation of project meetings and the drafting of meeting minutes;
  • Contribute to the preparation of project Deliverables;
  • Support the compilation, analysis and interpretation of project data and contribute with drafting scientific publications, technical reports and practice-oriented outputs related to Management and Maintenance of CRS.

Workplace: The workplace is located at BIOPOLIS Association/CIBIO – Research Centre in Biodiversity and Genetic Resources, Rua Padre Armando Quintas No. 7, 4485-661 Vairão, Portugal, involving regular travel within Portugal.

Monthly Remuneration: The monthly remuneration corresponds to level 16 of the Single Remuneration Table (Tabela Remuneratória Única), approved by Ordinance No. 1553-C/2008 of 31 December, in its current version, as updated by Decree-Law No. 29-A/2026 of 30 January, amounting to €1,499.15 (one thousand four hundred and ninety-nine euros and fifteen cents).
