Reconnecting Landscape IFLA Europe Exhibition of Landscape Architecture Projects in Europe

Subject
In this edition of the exhibition, we will present projects that shape and restore connections within landscapes. We are looking for design examples which illustrate how can be rebuilt at cultural, social and semantic levels. These can be large-scale linear park systems, or targeted, small-scale interventions acting as keystones crucial for reconnecting fragmented networks.
A landscape-oriented approach to space allows for integration and reconnection in the broadest sense – cultural, natural, and semantic. From this perspective, landscape architecture becomes a way of design by which the landscape itself acts as an organising mechanism – structuring space in a broad and multi-layered manner.
We kindly invite you to share with us examples of completed public-space projects that play a significant role as connective elements — spaces that restore lost links or create new ones.
We are interested in community-level connections explored in projects that carry meaning and create op-portunities for engaging with the past and the present while accounting for the future change – ones that reflect identity and tradition, rediscover them and connect them with the contemporary world. We are searching for places that encourage dialogue and encounters — both among people and between people and nature. Spaces should shape the framework of everyday life, fostering exchange and interaction across cultures and age groups.
By bringing together these multidimensional aspects, the exhibition will highlight the remarkable complex-ity of landscape and demonstrate its capacity to serve as an ideal medium for a rich, layered, connecting and evolving narrative.
